About Sophia Bera
Sophia Bera, CFP® is not your father’s financial planner. After working in traditional financial planning firms since 2007 she quit her job at a NY start-up to launch her own firm, Gen Y Planning. Now, she runs a six-figure online business from her laptop. Her recent accolades include the “Top 40 Under 40” by Investment News, the Investopedia “Top 100 Financial Advisors”, and “Investopedia Top 10 Financial Advisors.”

Sophia lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, Bryan, and their son, Theo, who was born in fall 2020. Meet the GYP Team
Ashley Dixon, Lead Planner
Ashley is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and has been in the industry planning since 2011. She was a pioneer in virtual paraplanning and at her last firm she worked remotely preparing financial plans for eight advisors. After a two year career break in Hawaii with her family, it was time to escape toddler life and return to financial planning and adult conversations.
As a military spouse, Ashley has lived in numerous states and loves working virtually for Gen Y Planning. As the budgeting and cash flow expert, she enjoys helping her generation create financial security and live their lives to the fullest — starting now. When Ashley isn’t spending time with her family she enjoys cooking, traveling, and running half-marathons.
Caishalynne Echols, Paraplanner
Caish is an Accredited Financial Counselor® who graduated from Utah Valley University’s personal financial planning program with a 4.0 GPA in May 2019. During her time as a student, she was awarded various awards including the Outstanding Student Award, the Carl Richards Real Financial Planner Award and the Personal Financial Planning Excellence Award.
Caish was also a financial coach at the university’s Money Management Resource Center where she volunteered helping students with their financial questions. She completed three different financial planning internships while simultaneously going to school and she recently became a CFP®.
Caish’s passion for helping others began when she lived in El Salvador and Belize for 18 months serving a mission for her church and has spilled over into everything else in her life. She loves traveling with her husband, coaching tumbling and cheerleading, leading youth groups on international humanitarian trips, and playing with her two dogs, Poppi and Bear, at her home in Iowa.

Marlene Romo, Financial Planning Intern
Marlene graduated from the University of South Florida’s personal financial planning program in May 2019. After graduating, she has been highly involved in her family’s Mexican restaurant, helping grow the business by running payroll, scheduling and other operations duties. Through investing her time into the family business, Marlene grew passionate about helping both her family and others achieve financial success.
As a first-generation college graduate and the daughter of immigrants, Marlene believes in the importance of planning for retirement and helping her community establish financial security. She is currently pursuing a CFP® certification and speaks both English and Spanish. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, group workout classes, and hiking at state parks near her home in Sarasota, Florida.
