The Start of Something Special

by Sophia Bera on June 16, 2013

Hi, I’m Sophia Bera. I’m thrilled to finally be launching a financial planning firm that is geared towards my generation!  It’s been a labor of love and an idea I’ve had for a very long time.  Now that my website has launched, it feels like my dream is finally a reality.  Welcome to a new website geared towards Gen Y and tailored to you.  On this website, money doesn’t have to be scary or serious all the time.  Money can be fun and exciting.  You can use it to achieve your goals and fund your dreams!  Let me show you how.

I know what you’re thinking: Sophia, who designed this beautiful website?  I must have one equally as fantastic and awe-inspiring as the one created for Gen Y Planning!  Well, I have the lovely Hannah Loaring to thank for that.  She’s a graphic designer and writer who runs the blog Further Bound, and she has made my site far more exquisite than I could have ever imagined.  You can check out her affordable rates here.

So what will I be writing about here on Gen Y Planning? It goes without saying that I will be sticking mostly to financial topics, but I’ll also try to keep it light. I’m also excited to announce that I will be collaborating with a partner charity, BestPrep.  It is my favorite financial education organization to volunteer for, and I’m particularly passionate about their mission “to prepare Minnesota students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through experiences that inspire success in work and life.”  So what does this mean for you?

I will be making a $50 donation to BestPrep for every new client that joins my firm in 2013!

In addition to setting up my new biz, I’ve been fortunate to be quoted by the lovely Laura Shin, in a few Forbes articles lately:

I also got busy writing these guest posts:

Oh, and the fabulous Alden Wicker of Ecocult wrote a post for Refinery29 and used me as a source for an article:

NB: this is a fashion website.  Nowhere in my wildest dreams did I think my name would end up on a fashion website, because I’m the least fashionable person ever!

And finally, I am very excited to be named one of the Top Financial Advisors for Millenials by MoneyUnder30.
